Friends

 

When God in all His wisdom

Made friendship for mankind;

I’m sure that He designed it

With folks like you in mind.

 

Someone bright and cheery

A quick wit, just for a joke or two;

Or maybe a word of wisdom

That would always do.

 

He made them to be treasures

To last throughout all time;

I know that it was in His plan

You’d be a friend of mine.

 

And so it’s with His love

I send this note to you;

It comes from such a grateful heart

I don’t know what to do;

I’ll just say it’s a pleasure

To have a friend like you.
